Anticipation

Wow! I never would have guessed how quickly and intensely the anticipation for a trip like this could build. I daydream about it, I talk about it, and think about it, I prepare for it. It's still a little less than four months away, but I can hardly wait! To make matters worse, I have dreadful senioritis. So, not only am I dying to go to Dominican Republic, but I am dying to be done with high school. I know that I need to refocus. I just want to take a day to breathe and remind myself that no matter how hard I wish everything is still four months away. I need to take advantage of where God has put me and bring him glory through my remaining time in high school. Also, God is growing me every day through every circumstance, so maybe I'm not ready for my DR trip yet, but I will be whenever I go because God is so faithful!

La Republica Dominicana

If you are looking up my blog with the intention of following my DR trip here are some details.... I AM SO EXCITED I'M ABOUT TO BURST! So many people signed up that they had almost 60 students trying to go on one trip. The resolution chosen was to split the trip in two. I am going on the first wave, and the dates of my trip are June 12-19. I know many of the people going on my segment of the mission trip, but I also don't know many of them. I am anticipating greatly meeting and bonding with everybody. God is so faithful to soften our hearts when we need it, and I pray He will do that for us in DR and in the time leading up to it. As for fundraising, I just got started so there's no knowing how that's gonna work out, but God has got this whole deal on lock down. I'm not worried. I ordered my passport a week ago also. Goodness all this is so daunting and fabulous!
